BMW Ghost Immobiliser
The Ghost uses the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or installing an additional lock to circumvent the security system.
The Ghost is unlike other immobilisers in that it doesn't use key-fobs or LED indicators. Instead, it uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that only you are aware of.
Stop & Start
If you've previously driven a BMW or utilized its stop-start feature, you may have noticed the engine continues to run for about 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to check the vehicle for a signal that comes from the ignition key. When it detects this the vehicle will continue to run. Our BMW ghost immobiliser, which is a next-generation device, doesn't require cutting OEM wires or add key fobs or alarms from the aftermarket. It is connected to the BMW's CAN data network and is programmed with a secure, unique PIN code which is accessible via buttons that are installed in your car. This allows you to enter the key push sequence that isn't available in the usual media menus, such as volume up/down or cruise control, source or air conditioning on that prevents your car from starting until the sequence is entered. The PIN can range between 4 and 20 digits, so it is extremely difficult for thieves to determine or crack.
We can also include the service/valet mode. This mode is activated when your vehicle is being serviced to ensure that the Ghost is kept from view by the garage. You can activate this mode by pressing the service button 5 times on your infotainment system (the system will flash in confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically arm itself when you return.

Service / Valet Mode

If you're at home and in an event where you meet and greet, when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be put into service mode. This allows you to start the car using your keys normally, however it stops the engine from starting again unless the proper code is entered. This is ideal for those who have to hand their cars over to valet services or other trusted friends and family members. It also allows you to get the car into the garage for repairs, maintenance etc without having to worry about it getting damaged or stolen by a mechanic whilst you wait.
When the service or valet mode is activated it will stop your BMW from being able to drive when it is first started. This stops anyone from attempting to test drive while you are away. Once you return it will return to normal driving, stopping your car from being tampered with or stolen once again.
We can install the Ghost to any BMW, all you need is the correct keys since the device doesn't use the original remotes, and can be used in conjunction with them. Anti-Hijack
With high-tech thieves becoming more advanced, the technology in security systems has to evolve, this is why Ghost has created this subtle and unobtrusive immobiliser. It's designed to stop thieves from using a brand new key or replacing the ECU in order to start your vehicle and drive away. Ghost links up to your CAN data network and uses the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console as well as door panels) to create an individual push sequence that requires to be entered before the engine can be started.
When the anti-hijacking feature is activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt to restart the engine will be thwarted. The system will sharpen the horn and flash the indicators. It will also stall the vehicle if the code is not found. By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can deactivate the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to start temporarily without entering a PIN.
If you have an GPS device linked up to your BMW it could be used to disable the Anti-Hijack feature, allowing you to still use the navigation system inside your car whilst the vehicle is parked not being watched. You can also use your mobile phone to control the anti-theft feature as well as other functions.

We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile app to allow remote control of keyless start and go functionality. The system allows you to turn the vehicle on, select drive and leave service mode without having your key fobs. You can also see your vehicle's location in real-time on a map on your smartphone, perfect to track your car while moving around.
The Ghost can be positioned under the dashboard or inside the centre console, it is completely hidden and tamperproof and does not require any extra wiring. The device is connected to the vehicles CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal PIN code is programmed into it. The pin code needs to be entered prior to the engine starting. This stops thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU to disable this system.
If the vehicle is stolen and the Ghost will enter a service mode that disables all functions until the PIN code is entered or you can use the mobile app to disarm it. This is a feature that was developed to safeguard your vehicle from high tech criminals who are using relay boxes to steal your car. It will even stop the thieves from being able to use their mobile phone to turn on your sat nav or MP3 player to locate your vehicle!
